Since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, the access to education of many young people has been severely impacted due to massive gaps in their access to technology. With the need to learn remotely across the UK, digital poverty has been exposed by the pandemic throughout 2020 and into 2021 as a growing issue. Access to technology is no longer a luxury, but an essential.
In response to this growing hurdle faced by many young people, Osiris Technologies working with Candour and the Norfolk Community Foundation, has launched the appeal in an attempt to ‘plug the gap’ of access to technology across Norfolk.
We are so grateful for all of the wonderful support we have received for the campaign and thank each and every one of you that has contributed for your generous donations. A large number of devices have already been delivered to the partner charities and distributed to those young people that have been identified as needing support in partnership with the Norfolk Community Foundation.

Although government provisions exist to get laptops to those in need via schools, these are simply not enough. Many that really need access to technology, do not qualify for any support at all under government schemes. This is why it is really nice that working together with Candour and the Norfolk Community Foundation we can get technology out to those falling through the gaps of the government provisions across Norfolk.
