Community, IT’s our priority

At Osiris IT, we help local charities and non-profits with more than their IT systems. Supporting community initiatives has always been a top priority.

It has always been one of our biggest priorities to support not-for-profits in the community. Since day one, we have always helped charities in our community wherever we can. This can include attending a fundraising event, providing pro-bono support, or even becoming a corporate sponsor.

Our partnership with charities started a long time ago with a fantastic charity called Break. When they approached us around 10 years ago, Break were growing and looking to outsource the management of their complete IT estate; we have been helping them grow and support their young people ever since. Over the years, we have not only seen Break as a client but as a partner. Working in tandem to do great things, growing together at the same time.

Since then, alongside the support for Break, we love to support a good cause wherever possible. Over the years, we have provided pro-bono support to charities like Beyond the Wall, The Feed and Norwich Puppet Theatre. This year we are supporting also sponsoring the CoffeeBreak van in addition to our usual pro-bono clients. Watch this space for more information; it’s all very exciting!

We really enjoy working with charities. There is always a great sense of achievement when we help organisations work better and wiser. It really does enhance this when you know you are doing it for a not-for-profit.

Our experience within this sector brings a unique set of skills and knowledge to any not-for-profit that works with us. At the same time, our client base continues to grow. This means we are learning more of the challenges in the sector, allowing us to help out other charities. We now enjoy partnerships with many local charities; some of the more well-known ones in our community include The Benjamin Foundation, Nelson’s Journey and The Mathew Project.

We always love to involve the whole team, and find they really enjoy it too! Our focus tends to be on Norfolk’s young people. We work with schools as Enterprise Advisors and attending careers events to provide support and guidance. Two of the team have also enrolled in the Break volunteer mentoring scheme.

We have really enjoyed our incredible partnership with Phillip and his team over the past 20 years – through regular giving, supporting our events and volunteering, we know that it has been mutually beneficial and we really hope that it will continue to grow and develop for a long time to come.

I would like to personally thank the team at Osiris for their continued support for Break which has made an incredible impact on the lives of the most vulnerable children and young adults in this region. - Pete Marron, Corporate Fundraising Manager, Break

Earlier this year we also embarked on a mission with Candour and Norfolk Community Foundation to help close the digital divide in Norfolk. To this date Plug the Gap has provided over 50 laptops to young people in need of them across Norfolk. Digital poverty, although worsened by the pandemic, won’t just go away with the Coronavirus and is a pressing issue

Osiris IT also provides lots of work experience to young people in Norfolk. At the same time as providing invaluable experience to a young person, work experience has lead to many joining our team as Apprentices. We have built Osiris IT on its fantastic staff, all recruited through apprenticeships. We have level 2 apprentices, all the way to level 7, studying towards a masters degree. Our apprenticeships are not just in IT too. We have HR, accounting and management apprenticeships taking place in the team also.

We will keep you in the loop on all our work in this sector. If you would like to know more about what we do or want to get involved, give us a shout!
